The Research Group on Multilevel Politics welcomes two new PhD researchers, starting 1 September 2024. Elisa Paepcke joins from the University of Mannheim where she completed her Masters in Political Science. Quido Haskovec is a graduate of the Masters in Comparative and International Studies at ETH and the University of Zurich. Both Elisa and Quido will conduct their doctoral research as part of the project “Public Reinsurance in Multilevel Polities” which is funded by an SNSF Starting Grant.
The members of the Standing Group on the European Union (SGEU) of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) have elected Prof. Christian Freudlsperger to their Steering Committee for a six-year tenure starting 1 September 2024. Prof. Freudlsperger's mandate will focus specifically on supporting early-career researchers in the discipline and organising the upcoming biannual conferences.
Prof. Christian Freudlsperger has been awarded funding by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to pursue research on "Joint Implementation in the EU (IMPLEMENT.EU)". The funding is granted under the SNSF lead agency program as part of a Research Unit of the German Research Council (DFG) entitled "Re-Configuring Europe". The project is worth CHF 600'000 and runs for initially four years, renewable for a second funding period.
